Investing in the Work Behind Civic Tech

At Civic Tech DC, so much work goes into sustaining a volunteer-driven community beyond the projects themselves.

This year, Civic Tech DC received a very generous grant from Arnold Ventures support our operations. This grant gives us an opportunity to invest in the less visible parts of running a civic tech organization: volunteer onboarding, project documentation, organizational systems, and the infrastructure needed to keep our work going.

Having helped get this opportunity off the ground by writing the grant proposal, I’m especially excited to see how we can use these funds to build a more sustainable organization.
