I was born in China and lived in an orphanage before being adopted to the United States. Many children in these orphanages have disabilities, and disability rights are a deep passion. My life could have looked very different, and I am appreciative of all the opportunities I had.

My family and I run a farm for young adults with disabilities. It was inspired by my brother and built to help close the gap that young adults face between high school and the transition to employment.

I loved art growing up and seriously considered art school, but I didn't believe my work was good enough. Life lesson number one: don't let your doubts define your dreams. Art comes in many forms, and I was lucky to find my way back to it through design.

I did a lot in college, including around seven internships, multiple projects, and double-majoring. I don't regret any of it, but I've learned since that taking time to rest is not the opposite of ambition. It is important to seek and accept new opportunities by the measurement of not how they fill your time, but how much they expand your thinking.

Much of my early life, growing up on a farm and through college, centered on environmental work. I've since shifted focus toward tech, but I am equally passionate about sustainability.
